Santa Rita was born in Italy. From a very young age, Santa Rita wanted to be a nun. She had a special devotion to the Passion of Christ. She loved Jesus so much that she prayed to suffer as He did. Her prayers were answered and a wound formed on her forehead as if a thorn had pierced her. The wound remained on his forehead until his death. Santa Rita is the patron saint of paternity. Their feast day is May 22nd.
