In most axés, the quartet with a handle is offered to the Yabás (female Orixás) and the quartet without a handle to the Borós (male Orixás).

The waters (omi), and the primordial clay (amò), are the elements used by Òsàlá to mold the human being, so that, after physically molded, Olódùmarè insufflates the Emí, a vital principle represented by breathing, thus generating life.

The quartinhas then represent life and creation, elements without which there is no Òrìsà, nor axé.

QUARTINHAS serve as a spiritual magnet for the medium. All fluids are absorbed by the constant energies of the water contained in QUARTINHAS.
